Muhammad Amtiaz Bajwa

Mr. Bajwa completed his high school from FG College Kharian Cantt where after he got enrolled in LLB (Hons) Shariah & Law at the International Islamic University Islamabad, which is a bilingual degree program, and graduated in the year 2005.   He was further enrolled in LLM (International Trade Law) at the same institution and was awarded LLM degree in the year 2009. During his LLM, he did research work on the topic: “Merger Control Mechanism in EU countries: A lesson for developing counties”. He started his career by practicing law at Islamabad after being enrolled with Punjab Bar Council as well as Islamabad Bar Association in the year 2006. He also provided legal aid to different private and public sector companies during this period. He remained profound of reading and writing throughout his academic career and he also has experience of teaching law in leading institutions at Islamabad.

Mr. Bajwa joined the Punjab Judicial Service through competitive examination in the year 2010. Since then he has served in various capacities in different districts of Punjab. He presided over the first ever designated Magisterial Court established at Lahore, for the territorial jurisdiction of the province of Punjab, under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (PECA). He handed down first ever conviction under PECA which took attention of local and international media. He served in said capacity till the year 2018. He also presided over Model Trial Magisterial Court (MTMC) at District Head Quarter Hafizabad during the years 2019-2020. He decided a significant number of criminal cases in the MTMC and in recognition of his brilliant work, he was awarded appreciation certificate by the then Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa.
